One prime example of this is the popular drug king El Chapo. El Chapo is known for being the leader of the biggest Mexican Drug Cartel and the men who has escaped prison various times. Many people looks at him as a criminal and believe he should deserve the death penalty for being responsible for large amounts of drug trafficking. El Chapo is placed under the “Bad Guy” character, mainly because drug trafficking is illegal. In reality, El Chapo is a generous man and despite his drug trafficking business he helps a lot of poor people in his home town. Many other cities near his home have experienced his generosity. The El Chapo’s generous treatment of the poor has made him as popular as Robin Hood with the only difference that Robin Hood robbed the rich to give to the poor, while El Chapo is not involved in robbery at all. That’s why he has become an icon authority for the residents of Culiacan, his home town. Hardly will anyone dare to give away El Chapo to the police. Gardner’s “star wars script” is once again showed through this real world scenario. The “Bad Guy” is not really a bad guy, but because we are force to think and analyze situations a certain way, we tend to block what really goes on behind the scenes.
Children learn this “Good guy and Bad Guy script” at a young age and are constantly reminded
