By reading the different intelligences that Howard Gardner wrote, I think my strongest two areas of intelligence would be Bodily-Kinesthetic, and Interpersonal. Bodily-kinesthetic to me is when you can learn things hands on to understand the picture better and get a better visual that makes since to you. I chose this one because I feel I learn better with hands on things. I understand when there is something in front of me and I can see and see how the instructor teaches us how to do what she just did. One of the examples on how I learn hands on is at school, we have classes that deal with us setting up things and passing instruments. When my instructor shows us how to put the blade on the knife she teaches step by step and once she is done

In August 1999 I had the privilege of meeting Arthur Ray Hawkins, known to many as “Coach Hawk”. Being a typical teenager, I didn’t always heed to the words of wisdom that he tried to instill into me daily. Not understanding his passion for God and people, I would often get mad when he challenged me to better. Why, because I wanted to settle for being good, yet he impelled me to be great. Not only on the football field in between the white lines, but in my daily walk in this thing that we call life.…

He was a poet, a phenomenal professor, a avid literary critic, a pioneer in African-american studies, an editor, a published author and even a undergraduate and PhD earner. One of the most astounding aspects of these accomplishments, in my opinion, is the fact that Darwin Turner was able to attain these incredible things during a period in time where race and color played not only an important but an essential part in determining one's success in life. He lived in a time where the color of his skin was most definitely detrimental to his success yet he not only prospered but triumphed over the many barriers he must have faced…
