Over the semester, the course revolved around the topic of monsters which was used throughout three projects: Project Space, Project Text, and Project Media. Each of these assignments challenged my writing capabilities in different ways which ultimately lead to me to better my grammar, analysis, and confidence for future essays. I think that paraphrasing will be the hardest for me to avoid while writing. It seems that sometimes it is hard to write or summarize something that is so well written already. The way I will work around that is to stop and re-read what I am wanting to summarize, take a few important words out of the material I am reviewing and jot those down, then go back and write what is needed to complete my sentence or idea. Once I have completed my writing, I will review and make sure I have properly cited my work. Using the guidelines discussed in our “Read Section”, and following the instructions listed on how to source correctly should avoid paraphrasing mistakes and plagiarism.…

Well, I consider myself to be a decent writer, even though writing is not my strong point. Therefore, as I have come to the completion of my degree, I have learned numerous writing skills along the way. I learned the MLA style, when I started taking my basics in college and the APA style for my upper division courses. At times I get confused on the formats as I consider them to be similar in some ways. Furthermore, they differ and each has its own different style of quoting and citation in articles, books, phrases, etc.…

When my friends ask for a letter of advice or thoughts on certain issues they are having I get deep and dramatic.…

The idea of writing, is, in itself, a great way to communicate between humans. It has been around for thousands of years, dating back to ancient history with writings etched into walls in caves. Even though there has been a major advancement in printed writing that is done at a device such as a computer or a typewriter, handwriting is still a major part of our lives. Like every other child, I went to Elementary School, where I was taught how to read, do basic math and, most importantly, write.…

Writing helps translate exactly how I feel into words so that when others read my writing, they get a solid idea of how I feel and/or what my intentions are. Overall, writing is one of the best ways of communication when compared to just talking to someone. But, there 's also a downside to writing a letter to someone compared to speaking to them, because, when you speak to someone, you show emotion through facial expressions and gestures; a paper cannot show emotion very well, which is why text messages can be easily…
