How Writing Has Impacted My Life

Improved Essays
Writing has impacted my life and allowed me to look at books differently. After realizing all the work and effort that went into creating an elaborate story, I gained a better appreciation for how much authors do in order to present such amazing stories. I feel that I have a vast amount of respect for writers, but I also feel that writing is a chore and I tend to shy away from it.

One of my favorite teachers worked with me in order to improve specific spots in my writing that I got wrong. Instead of just telling me I was wrong and moving on to the next mistake she would help me understand the reason I misplaced a comma or used

I currently live in a small beach town right outside of Jupiter, Florida known as Hobe Sound. It’s a “drive by town” as I would describe it. There really isn’t anything there would attract or gravitate people to stay there; its better to just look at it out a car window well passing it. It is currently about six hours outside of Tallahassee, Florida. This seems really long, but originally I signed to go to University of Mississippi and later realized that being more than ten hours away from home was to much for me.…

What does writing mean to me? Everyone has a different personality and me being less of an outspoken person writing therefore plays a major role in my daily life. Writing is the main way in which I express myself, whether it be from doing class activities or just by me communicating with my friends via text messages, it also provides me with the opportunity to freely and comfortable express my thoughts for example in any individuals life there is a time when he/she experiences some form of struggle and I was no different therefore when I go threw these trying times I write about these experiences, and this frees my mind. Although overlooked it is safe to say that writing is one of the basic skills needed in order to survive in today's society…

Whether we know it or not in this modern society we are writers everyday of our lives. These interactions shape not only how we communicate but how we write as well. Personally, I have been shaped by the influence of both other writers I have known and those I have only read the creations of. Those same influences contributed to both my writing style in the classroom and to my identity as a writer. I spent a lot of my childhood with my nose deep in fiction novels at near by libraries.…

For some people, writing is difficult and it can become stressful to write about topics you have no interest about; for me it’s the contrary, I have always had good fluency when it comes to write about any topic, even if it doesn’t interest me, this is mainly because I take it as a new challenge or an opportunity to have a more in deep look about the certain topic; I use this not only for writing but every time I get tasked with something new, for example back when I was in the marine recruit training more commonly known has boot camp, it’s a requirement to learn how to shoot a rifle with outstanding accuracy, for me this was something completely new since I had never held a rifle before and it hadn’t really caught my attention until…

To me, writing has always been busy work and something that teachers only used to create grades. My writing experience in high school was very limited to one category in: practice AP essays. The writing I did in class was always preparing for AP exams and was very fact based. Most essays, such as history, were only used to show that I knew the material and weren’t graded on how good the writing was. I didn’t feel like I had any freedom to stray away from the format that the AP graders expected because I didn’t want that to affect my score.…
