While Merriam-Webster and Dictionary.com have their own definition of authenticity, everyone has his or her own foundation of authenticity, interpretation, and usage of the word.
For example, I define authenticity as having an origin or a beginning but also being able to adapt and evolve. To some, authenticity in objects or food should not change because many believe that authenticity originates from past generations. However, the world is constantly developing and evolution has taken its course, therefore, I believe that authenticity can be anything that you believe is real and genuine, as long as it is composed of my own beliefs and standards. Society may think of my standards as outrageous, but authenticity has too many definitions to differentiate between one another and there is no evidence that would prove that one is more genuine than the other. …show more content…
