When was your last visit to a hair salon or barber shop? Do you remember why you went? Hair is a classic choice for the way a person resents him or herself to society. The reason they make these changes can fall into only six categories: practicality, new beginnings, major life changes, major life changes, boredom, inner changes, and pop culture; here is why. People change their hair for many reasons, one being practicality. For many people practicality outweighs their hair fantasies. Many boys will frequently cut their hair after consistent styling becomes tiring. Other practical reasons people change their hair include having a child, becoming a parent, often cut their hair to be shorter, since babies tend to pull hair. Many change their hair as a redo or a start over, they use their hair as a malleable piece of identity to reform themselves. Lots of people also change their hair to impress new people in their life. Another new beginning people may change their hair for is a move, or beginning to live on their own. Other major life changes, moving out on your own, can influence a hair change. Religious changes can influence someone to change how they present their hair. Many also change their hair at the end of an era in their life, such as high school or college graduation or retirement. Another major life change people experience are breakups, many change their hair around these situations. When people end relationships many girls often feel the need for change and distractions. Many people that are bored also desire distractions. An easy way to change and be distracted is through hair, it is a form of expression. Many also feel hair contributes to their self-perception, hair is a way people not only define themselves but also define others with. Finally, when people are bored, they tend to be impulsive.
