In Another Brooklyn by Jacqueline Woodson, Woodson portrays the American Dream in different ways. She showed how people were given a life and it was up to them to decide what they did with it. She was able to take you to Brooklyn NY and portray a world from the beginning of the book where her main character August ,and her childhood girl friends thought of Brooklyn as a place where they could believe they were beautiful, talented, and brilliant .
