How Was The Civil War Avoidable

The Civil War was one of America’s bloodiest conflicts. But was this war necessary? It all started by uncompromising differences between the free states and slave states over the power of the national government to prohibit slavery in the territories that had not yet become states. In my opinion, the Civil War was avoidable. As kids, most of us are taught to compromise and resolve our issues in a nice way. Therefore, couldn’t the North and South figure out their problem in a way other than violence?
