I have been affected by violence, my family has been affected by violence, and many other people have been affected by violence. After being affected by this I would like to find the cause and share what I think would work to solve such a widespread problem.

Cure Violence www.cureviolence.org Cure Violence is an organization founded by epidemiologist Gary Slutkin. Dr. Slutkin spent a decade in underdeveloped countries, fighting epidemic diseases. When he returned to the US, he’d all but forgotten what it was like to have running water, and adjustable temperature in the home. He also had no news of the US, so he found it both dismaying and compelling to hear about the rampant violence in some parts of the US, most especially in Chicago, Illinois. As a result, Dr. Slutkin began researching the violence problem in the same way that he tracked infectious diseases in those other countries, and he found that the trajectories were the same.…

Most common and clear is the influence of pop culture, because it is so prevalent in today’s society. Pop culture, with all of its violence and destruction, can sway a person from his good morals towards a dangerous dark path. Another great setback that cause gun violence is shortened prison sentences. The length of a prison sentence can directly and indirectly impact a criminal’s intentions after he is released. However, the most evident cause of gun violence is certainly the decline in parenting and family values, because it directly influences society’s youth in such a terrible way.…

Video Games Do Not Cause Violent Behavior Over the years there have been several incidents that have stirred up the emotions of people, parents and especially investigators. These incidents include the Sandy Hook Elementary Shooting, the Columbine Massacre, and the incident in Colorado where a man went on a shooting spree in an Aurora movie theater. There was one key thing that aroused people’s emotions connected by investigators to all three incidents: video games. This led to the belief that if the parents’ children play violent video games that the child will become violent. Even though people have been led to believe that video games cause people to become cruel and commit violent actions, video games do not cause people to commit acts of violence because they don 't have time to…

This is unacceptable because it teaches children and young teens it is perfectly normal to kill without having any type of reasoning behind the madness and insanity. Furthermore, countless details support the conclusion that extreme violence should not be witnessed at young ages.…
