In Masoret this unit, we talked about Tzedakah and what it really is. Before we started this unit I just thought that Tzedakah was giving back to the community. I also thought it was putting some money in a Tzedakah box and that's it. Tzedakah can really change someone's life it may be physically and/or emotionally. Tzedakah is not just about money, it’s about what you can do to help. Tzedakah has also changed the way that I look at things.

First of all, it can change someone's life, emotionally, if someone is homeless and you give them a meal three times a day. Or, maybe just give them somewhere they could come sleep. This can change their whole experience in life. If plenty of people don’t do anything about it they will think that people only do what's best for them. Therefore, if someone helps them, it brings a whole new perspective in life. Physically, when you’re living in the cold or if you live in a house and don’t have enough money for food, your body will not get the things that it needs to stay healthy. Which can cause serious injuries or maybe even

Bruno always brings schmuel food because he's starving. Bruno goes through a lot of trouble just to help schmuel live a somewhat better life. Helping someone when they're in a challenging situation makes everything better.…

Going back to my opinion, I still believe that it is good to help other people in need. They shouldn't be knows as some sort of evil ¨peasants¨ just for the fact that they are looking and needing for help. Most people don't even reach out for help, but people still go out to help them because it is just the right thing to do. I am also not saying that you should give money to every person you see and leave known for yourself. It is a great thing to be able to take care of yourself and strive for what you really…

There are many ethical dilemmas in our world that I wish I had the ability to change. In order to see a major impact in our society we first have to start by fixing the dilemmas around us. One of the biggest concerns in my community currently is homelessness. I see people everyday on the streets being dehumanized and disregarded by the people around them. This is the most important problem I would like to solve.…

However, there are people who can’t afford to help others, but they can help spread the word and help them get the help they need. Others might argue that even if you treat people they way you want be treated, some may not even say thank you for helping them and some might be rude about it. Yes, some might not be grateful about the way you treat them but, it's better to take the chance of not getting anything in return. At least you will be satisfied with what you have done for them.…

Donating to charity is like kissing a child's finger that got pinched in a drawer. It gives the child the false feeling that their finger is fixed, but in reality nothing changed. An example we see of this is in source B, it says “ Charity helps the recipient with their problem, but it doesn’t fix the cause of that problem. ”(Source B, Para 4). The world needs to fix its problems before it can begin to help those that are suffering.…

They’re about 7.125 billion people in the world, and in no way is it possible that every one of those people are “good.” The reason I put that word in parenthesis is because the meaning of it varies from one another. For example, they could be a good father, but an evil husband. The word good will be used in a sense of moral goodness. Out of all those people in the world, a small majority of them can’t make humanity evil just because they want to be.…

There are many different ways in order to give back to the community. A few of these ways include money, time and attitude. Money is, of course, essential to living, therefore a huge amount of money would definitely be helpful but not always necessary. One person does not need to give thousands of dollars to make a difference because someone else can give one dollar and still impact the community. It should be an effort from everyone in the community to give back that way one person doesn 't have to give everything.…

An elderly woman who got to take part in a high school community service project states, “Many think that volunteering is all about what you give. But what catches you by surprise is how much you receive in return.” This demonstrates why many people do not feel that they should give back because they do not believe the benefits that they can get from it as well. Consequently, when creating that feeling of happiness and satisfaction in someone else’s life, it comes back to the person creating it. Volunteering to help someone get tutored, help the handicapped, involve themselves with a program like Meals on Wheels, certain environmental work, etc., not only does one gain from that, but one’s community has been helped because of them.…
