Based on a life of Gabi, a Mexican American girl who lives in Southern California. It’s funny, sad, honest, raw, bold, and hopeful. It’s about the many things that can go on in one’s life, great and small I would absolutely recommend this book to your son, my nephew Played , unless you think he is not mature enough to understand how the real world is. The book talks about the main character, Gabi, somewhat fat and in the story it begins with how her mother was pregnant with her. For example,“ My mom has told me the story many, many, MANY, times of how, when she confessed to my grandmother that she was pregnant with me, her mother beat her. BEAT HER! She was twenty-five. That story is the basis of my sexual education and has reiterated why it's important to wait until you're married to give it up.” Today, during these days especially during high school a lot of sex goes on. And a lot of diseases which can cause HIV, STDS, and Pregnancy. These kinda days all people care about is having sex with other people whether how many girls or guys can you sleep with. I also learned something that whatever you do in life whether good or bad it will come back at you in the future. For example, If you sleep with girls you will soon be a father in the future without you even knowing it, If you study hard in school you can accomplish anything you want in school. Whatever you do in life good or bad it will always come back at you in the future. Gabi (the main character) learned from her mom mistakes of what she did was wrong and to fix that she made sure she doesn’t do the same thing. And since I care about my nephew brother and also my children. I am going to recommend this novel to all of my children when they are
