They journey to the lonely mountain to return the mountain to its’ rightful owner. On the way they get in trouble with the goblins, but somehow made it out alive. While Bilbo was trying to escape, he ventured down to where Gollum lived. While getting away from Gollum, Bilbo discovered a magical ring that turned him invisible when he put it on. After they had escaped, Gandalf and the others went to see Beorn, a skin changer. There they rode ponies all the way to the edge of the Mirkwood Forest, where Gandalf had left them. On they way through the forest, Bombur fell into the magical lake. While they were sleeping one night, they were attacked by giant spiders. In the end Bilbo rescued the dwarves, but were kidnapped by the elves. Thorin was in a deeper place than the others because he was captured way before the other dwarves were. Bilbo had put on his ring before they were caught and slipped in the castle after them. Bilbo also had saved them from the elves. While at The Lonely Mountains, they defeated Smaug and were in a Battle of the Five Armies. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes fantasy books. It would be a great read for anyone going on a road trip or while on
