They would sometimes engage in Sociodramatic Play where the older four year old would act like the two year olds mother, and scold, teach, and nurture her copying many quotes previously used by their mother which was pretty comedic to me. The household is filled with ‘girly’ toys such as Barbie dolls, easy bake ovens, and Ponies, so the Gender Identity is basically one sided on the female side. Although when it comes to sharing these toys, the two sisters end up having conflict that ends in Hostile Aggression. An example of this during my observation is when the 2 year old was playing with one of the Barbie dolls that the 4 year old claims as her own, and ends up snatching it away from her little sister. This makes the two year old upset, and she ends up smacking the 4 year old which starts a mini “slap boxing” match which had to be broken up by their mother. After studying how the two sisters interact and play with each other, I also observed how they act individually. The 4 year old tends to be more dramatic, and does not cooperate or share well with her little sister. Her mother stated that she is like a “spoiled little princess” and I believe this shows that she has a bit of an egocentric personality. These two little girls seem tothe be the average when it comes to these types of developments although they do have their own personalities that stick out. One thing I took away from my observation that I believe needs to be improved within their household is the fact that the sisters seem to have a lot of conflict over personal toys, and territory. All in all, I enjoyed my time observing these two children in their early childhood, and am looking forward to seeing their growth together as time goes
