How To Write An Interview With Dr. Papbst

Today was the first day I’ve actually got to do something chairside with Dr. Pabst, but the only reason was because the dental assistant was out with her set of twins with the flu. See Dr. Pabst is the type of dentist where he likes it his way or no way at all. His dental assistant is his dental assistant and he doesn’t want to switch up (his words.) Anyways, to start out the day I started out with a composite procedure nervous as heck. I knew what I was doing, but I didn’t learn the way he does his composite procedures so at first it was difficult for me to understand. I ended up getting the hang of it towards the middle of the procedure. As we were in the middle of the composite procedure he asked for the gold instrument, I proceeded to hand him the gold instrument as we were taught in class and he just snatched it from me like I was handing it to him wrong. …show more content…
In the middle of the procedure he said suction, as I was suctioning this lady’s mouth, her tongue decided it wanted to get in my way and I ended up suctioning it up. She laughed and couldn’t stop laughing, until Dr. Pabst was like we don’t have much time. I looked at him strangely like we have 4 patients this whole entire day. We have got plenty of time to do this procedure. We finally were done with the patient and I lead her to the checkout area. I disinfected and cleaned up everything and reset for the same procedure. The second patient arrived a little later and she looked directly at me and said, don’t I know you? I said idk what’s your name and she told me. Her and my grandparents go to the same church and apparently, they’ve been talking about me . We waited for Dr. Pabst to get in the room and we started another composite

In April the patient set up a preoperative examination with Dr. Becton. She claims that there was a nurse in the room for the pat smear. The nurse and Dr. Becton left the room as the woman was getting undressed. Dr. Becton returned but without the nurse (which it isn't against the law to have a nurse in there but according to Linda Hutchison that pretty much every doctor had a nurse present during the exams.). Then he told her to lie down on the table.…

This week was my first Foley catheter insertion. I was a bit nervous, but most of all I just did not want to hurt the patient since he was already in a lot of pain. Prior to inserting the Foley, I talked to the patient and his wife and asked what happened, if he was allergic to anything, and if there was anything he needed. My professor helped me through the procedure. The most important part of this procedure was to keep sterility.…

Do you recommend journaling to your patients? If not, why not? I have not talked with my patients about journaling, I have, on the other hand, stressed the importance have putting a folder together that would include medication’s they take, and updating the list the first day of the month, also to include any surgeries, procedures along with a list of any thing they may have been diagnosed with. I work in the ER, and I can’t tell you how many people I see who have no idea the names of the medications they are on and why they are taking them. Some times a family member will come with the patient to the ER, the patient is unable to speak, and when I ask them some simple questions like, “ what surgeries have they had in the past?”, they have…

The best interpretation of a dental hygienist that I can conceive is a professional whose main job is to teach their clients the essential oral hygiene skills and provide dental care in order for the client to maintain their overall oral health. Among the various responsibilities performed for the client to insure their health and safety includes making sure, we, as dental hygienists first do not harm to the patient by contaminating with pathogens that could have easily been disposed of by simply following the standard rules of infection control. As stated by Ester Wilkins “Dental healthcare personnel have a professional obligation to serve all patients with comprehensive oral care, including patients with known or unknown communicable diseases.…

These were my tenth (11/12) and eleventh (11/13) shifts following Meagan on the medical/surgical floor at Rady Children’s Hospital. On Thursday, November 12th, I followed Meagan from 0930 to 2230 while she worked as the resource nurse. This was a new and different experience compared to following her as a normal nurse on the floor and even as the charge nurse. For most of the day, we watched other nurses’ patients so that they could go on break or accomplish other major tasks for their patients, helped nurses who were really busy, set up and prepared rooms for incoming patients, and started intravenous lines (I.V.s) (Meagan’s specialty). It was also an extra peculiar day because I followed Meagan to a charge nurse meeting and also into her boss’s office where we ended up talking for about an hour concerning several different things.…

Throughout life, we will always experience certain emotions but in different ways and form, some of those emotions are happiness, love, sadness and pain. This is the part of my life where i have experienced pain so much, that it became an obstacle in my life, which felt like it was impossible to overcome. The pain i went through wasn 't "ordinary", it wasn 't from a cut or emotional break up but something more menacing, it was cancer. To understand what i went through, we need to start from the beginning. We need to go to the time before my world turned black and gloomy, a time where i looked at the world in a rose color attitude.…
