There are several ethical issues in the scenario of Maria the student intern and the testing of the little girl believed to have Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. These ethical issues are as follows:
• The best Interests of the Client - Maria's made a choice to use the intelligence test on the child knowing that the child can speak English but only as a second language. Therefore this was not in the best interest of the client as it would not allow the child to understand the test to answer accurately and equally important would be if she did understand the question but her answer was not how she felt due to losing something in translation. o In this instance Maria seems to be content knowing that the little girl knows English even if it is not her first language nor does she speak English fluently yet somehow she feels this would be fair for the child to take the test.
