When Charlie spends his last time with his friends before the school year starts again, he realizes that through him participating he has found happiness. Charlie has gotten been discharged from the hospital. He will be starting sophomore year and his friends would be start college. Before everyone went off on their own paths, Patrick, Sam and Charlie decide to go through the tunnel once again. This time, Charlie sat in the back of the pickup truck as they went through the tunnel. In this moment, Charlie started crying because he was aware of who he is. This would also be the last letter that Charlie writes to his friend.
