Have you ever wondered what would happen if the most dangerous bomb ever was created? Atomic bombs are made of many things and take a lot of effort. Tests were made in the U.S. The Manhattan goal changed and evolved quickly,and secrecy was valued so much cities were created.Japan was devastated by the two bombs created by the project.The Manhattan Project is a project to research new science and technology.
The final goal of the manhattan project changed quickly. The manhattan project started in 1941 when president roosevelt was warned by Enrico Fermi, and Albert Einstein that the germans had split the atom. To create the nuclear fission the atomic bombs used uranium-235 or plutonium. The nuclear fission split the atoms which caused new neutrons to shoot out. When the bomb is dropped and explodes half of the explosion is blast, thirty-five percent is heat, and fifteen percent is nuclear radiation. These are one of the most deadliest weapons of earth.
A test bomb was dropped in the United States. This was the first nuclear explosion known. The bomb was dropped in new mexico at the trinity site near Alamogordo. The flash of the bomb alone was visible for over 200 miles! Most residents had their windows broken and the ground shook. The test bomb was called gadget and was the beginning of the nuclear age.
The project was so secretive and large there had to be cities built just for the project. For instance Oak Ridge, Tennessee was created just to work for the manhattan project and it still exists today. The project kept its secrets so well that vice president Truman didn’t know about the manhattan project until he became president. The project created many more citie just like oak ridge around the U.S and we didn't even know about
