I hope you had a relaxing summer. This summer I read The Boys in the Boat, and I enjoyed the author’s details about the lives of people in both America and Germany in the 1930’s. As I was reading, I thought of your U.S. History class and how Daniel James Brown’s descriptions of how Adolf Hitler had more help in realizing his dreams of perfecting the Aryan race than many thought as well as how bad the Great Depression really was and how it affected the war related to our classes discussions about World War II.
