How To Write An Essay On The Chocolate Wars By Robert Cormier

I remember the days where I would be bullied everyday & the days that Jerry had to carry a weight on his shoulder that almost crushed him. Those were the days where we both struggled but fought our way through it. The Novel that I read was , The Chocolate Wars by Robert Cormier. It all started at a school with a secret society called the Vigils, they were assigned to sell many chocolates as they can. With one voice speaking up, in the name of Jerry, not selling the chocolates brought him into trouble. From getting beat up, and obnoxious phone calls, ultimately fighting for the sake of his existence. His personality gets exposed in this book, showing that Jerry and I both are hardworking, strong and independent. In in the Novel The Chocolate Wars, the main character Jerry is very hardworking. Jerry possesses this trait because Since Jerry made the football team, he realized the potential he has and he continues putting work towards becoming stronger every day. “Rising to his feet, on until everything settled into place, like a lens focusing, making the world sharp again, with edges” (Cormier 1) . Jerry is strong because after all that has happened, he has not given up. “My name is Jerry Renault and I’m not going to sell the chocolates,” he said to the empty apartment” (Cormier 168). He sounded really noble and determined to not sell the chocolates. At around the end of the book , he ultimately goes in an arena hosted by the Vigils to fight for his life. This relates to me because I would say I am not a person that gives up easily. If I am not at a place that I want to be I have to try to be at that place. For example, everyone has that perspective that I am super skinny and that I need to eat more but they do not know I lift weights, eat a lot and sprint. All in all, we are able to withstand great force from people dragging us
