Monuments Men” Review The movie “Monuments Men” is about war, justice, art, culture, and the lives of millions of people who perished because Hitler wanted to wipe the Jews and their culture off the face of the earth. A few hundred men and women from the Allied countries left their careers in the arts, education, and the museum world during World War II to find, save, protect, preserve and ultimately return stolen art from all over Europe to its rightful owners. The movie opens with Frank Stokes (Clooney) trying to convince officials in Washington about the importance and need to protect the cultural artifacts of Europe.
