Over 6,000 Jewish people were killed every single day in gas chambers at the concentration camp, Auschwitz. Within the Auschwitz complex, there were four massive gas chambers in the Birkenau killing center. There were more than 3 million Jews killed in the killing centers. Only a small amount of Jewish people survived the Nazi concentration camps. In Night, by Elie Wiesel, Eliezer was one of the lucky few to survive a death camp. Him and his family of five were all sent to live in a labor camp. Everyone was joyous arriving to the camps, only to discover these were not the ordinary work camps they were told they were going to. Eliezer embarks on a life changing journey when he boards the train to the camp, Auschwitz.
