Savannah Huerta Sam Houston High School Mr. Buckner When I was a freshman, I thought high school was going to be easy. Have all the friends you'd like, be the popular kid, and have all the good grades; well at least that's what I thought. As I got closer to my senior year things started getting a little heavy. My grades started dropping and I was at my lowest, when I started school, I was assigned an English teacher, Mr. Buckner. At first I thought he wasn't the brightest of them all. He can be tough yet humble. My guess were that his intentions were to ruin my high school years. He would crack jokes about me and pick on me here and then, I thought he was going to destroy me. Years went by and I was assigned Mr. Buckner during my final senior year, boy was he a lot tougher this …show more content…
I honestly thank him for that, if it wasn't for him I wouldn't be the tough cookie I am today. Through other eyes, he may just be an English teacher, but he is now one of the people I look up to. He helped me decide which path I wanted to take through college and gave some tips with Child development. I have decided to attend SAC for my first two years of college and take a deeper understanding and look more into child development. Not only do I want to look into child services such as child protective services, but I also plan to look into child care, such as a daycare worker or a pre- school teacher. I also couldn’t have gone through these 4 years if I wasn’t for the help of my parents. Thought all my 12 years of school they have provided me with clothing, shelter, shoes, supplies for school and such on. My mom can be hard on me at times, but it was for the best. My dad, I thank him for supporting me in every decision I make, no matter what it is. Without the people that helped me through the years, I wouldn't be here where I am today without

Despite all the outside factors we had to endure, we are as close as could possibly be. In every task I ever had to overcome, my family was always behind me supporting me in every aspect. Especially my parents, they would go to the moon and back in order to help me become successful. My parents have gone through many shameful experiences in order to help with my academics. For instance, when I was involved with the school’s orchestra, I did not own a violin…

If it was not for these three people I do not think I would be able to get to where I am at this point in my life. Those three important people in my life are my mom and my two older brother, Carlos and Joaquin. They have impacted my life greatly, and there is definitely no doubt about that.…

For most of my childhood life, I was extremely defiant, stubborn, and strong willed. It all started with me refusing to sleep. No matter what my parents did, I would refuse to sleep alone. Classic American Every day our lives are molded by those around us. We grow up learning to live like those who raise us. We see their happiness, hardships, and everything else that comes between. All of the things that happen to them, we take and make our own or try to do better than, but more importantly we learn what life is really about. Our lives would never be the same if we never saw what life is supposed to be about from those who influence us, and we only saw the easiness of some parts of everyday life.…

I bet you’re wondering why I am writing you a letter. Well honestly, it’s because it is an assignment for class, but also because I feel that this is a great opportunity to let you know how much you’ve influenced my life today. There are many that congratulate me and compliment my work, work ethic, and accomplishments once they hear where I am going to college and my plans when I get there. I do normally go along with the compliment and take credit for my successes, in part because compliments make me recoil, and explaining the extent to your influence would be too expository and frankly unnecessary in some situations. Your effect on my life goes beyond what I could ever expect, or even consciously like, and your influence I constantly feel at rare but increasingly frequent moments of realization and introspection. I would like to take the credit for my academic successes to make myself feel like I have actually accomplished something, but I cannot knowing that the only thing I did to build myself academically and psychologically was take shape from the building…

If my mom and dad would have never split up, my mom never would have met my step dad, who showed me that a man could love and care for a child as his own even if they aren’t blood. He spent time with me, bought me nice clothes and toys, and basically spoiled me my entire childhood. He always believed in me, and pushed me beyond my limits, because he saw potential in me. I do not think any less of him because he isn 't my real dad. Another reason I 'm thankful for the way I was raised, is that the home I spent most of my time at led me to believe that everything in life is easy and everyone can have nice possessions and go on fancy vacations, but I learned that was not the case.…
