The government of the United States has changed throughout time and has been more compassionate for teenagers who commit a crime. However there are some cases that are not well taken care of and the supreme court does not take the actions needed. If a teenager has a record of being violent then the consequences should be more severe than those who do not. The court should take into consideration a medical background history for all of the trials before punishing them and giving up hope for these teenagers. The government has changed its laws on how they deal with teen criminals, but there continue to be some cases that I do not agree with. In the case of a young teenage girl Sara Kruzan who was being sexually abused since she was 11 years old, was sentenced to life in prison without parole when she murdered her abuser. Sara was not even given the chance to speak about this during her trial that only lasted two days. If the courthouse would have given her a chance to speak, the outcome of her sentence would have been dramatically different. Alanza Thomas tried to lift a Fast Trip gas station days after running away from his house where he previously had an argument with his mother. However his stay in a friend's house was not going to be for free and was pressured into this horrible action. Alanzo Spence 13 years in prison after failing the robbery, however the court house never took into consideration why he committed such crime. Thomas lost the opportunity to live a normal Teenage life and had to learn how to drive at the age of 28 and learn how to use social media, however he suffered from severe anxiety without his medications and did not seem like a regular person without
