On his first year, Chuck Noland had made an attempt to escape, but the tide was so strong, it caused his life boat to pop and making him get an injury on his foot. On his fourth and final year on the island, he had made a raft out of wood, with the tree barks he had braided, and a video tape to hold the raft together.
