On February the 4th I attended a showing in Brown Residential Hall. Selma is an American historic drama film. This movie shines a light on a very important time in history. Prior to watching to the movie in school I didn’t have any knowledge about the march. The movie makes me feel very grateful and appreciative of all the things that our elder sacrificed so that we can live the life we have today.
The movie is based on the 1965 Selma to Montgomery voting rights marches which was led by Martin Luther King, Jr., James Bevel, Hosea Williams, and John Lewis. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and other had attempted the march several times. It was not until later that they had federal government protection. During one event the marchers were stopped
