The Great Depression was a tragic moment during the 1930’s because of the crash of the Stock Market and the lack of money and food. A stock market crash is a sudden dramatic decline of stock prices across a significant cross-section of a stock market, resulting in a significant loss of paper wealth. Crashes are driven by panic as much as by underlying economic factors. The Great Depression was a bad thing during those times because people barely had a place to stay they had to move in with their relatives. People didn’t have money any money to buy food or clothes.
The Bonus Marchers AKA Ex soldiers was protesting and marching around Washington. They Ragged hordes blocked traffic, clung like swarming bees to the steps of the capitol. The Bonus needed their money from the war now so they can eat. Bonus marchers went to washington to protest congress not giving them their bonus now but later. The women washed their clothes in soapweed suds. They tried to plant vegetables but it didn’t work out very well because they ate them before they was ripe. Family members would take turns eating because there was lack of food due to the loss of income.
