That internal struggle to let Oskar into her life and keep him as a friend, knowing that he would grow old, but she would never change further reflected Eli’s loneliness. Oskar’s character strengthened from the relationship with Eli because she taught him to stand up for himself when it came to the bullies. She even helped him with the bullies by killing them at the end, which further showed her care for Oskar. He was sort of Eli’s support system because he accepted her when he earned she was a vampire, but he also stayed with her through her struggles as the movie went on. In Near Dark, I was able to identify and understand Caleb because it was a teenager that had to make a normal decision of right and wrong like everyone else. Also, the way the story was told are the movie feel like we were on this journey with Caleb because it was shot as if we were there. In Let the Right In, the plausibility remained because the viewer was able to feel as if they were actually there experiencing the situation to feel as if we were also there. The story line followed one of almost forbidden love, so naturally we as viewers are rooting for them to be able to find a solution to be together. The movie makes you want to know what happens next. In Let the Right One In viewers will be able to relate to both Eli and Oskar because they are kids with a friendship. They are both outcasts that need each other for support and as a viewer, you want to see a hay ending. In a movie like Let the Right One In, the viewer knows something bad is going to happen because of the overall eeriness that is played with throughout the film with the sound and camera angles; that eeriness adds to the mystery and also makes the viewer want to follow along to know what is going to
