After Reagan graduated he started a job at the WOC in Davenport, Iowa as a radio sportscaster. Then he found himself working for the NBC radio outlet in Des Moines, Iowa. In 1937 he was in California covering the spring training of the Chicago Cubs and also to meet agents that could take his career to the next step. That trip was well worth it because he was given an opportunity to secure a screen test for a movie role with the Warner Brothers. The first movie he was ever in was called “Love is in the Air” and it was a romance movie. Reagan was always interested in politics as well as his parents. To show that Reagan was involved in politics and his family when Franklin D. Roosevelt was running for president they backed the new deal Reagan was influenced by Franklin because of the new deal. To go with the reasoning he backed the new deal was because it gave Reagan's father and brother a job because of the relief program. After World War II Reagan supported the democratic party because of anti -communist liberals. He became governor of California, and since he was so grand at being a governor he was nominated for the republican presidential nomination. Reagan became president in 1981 and served for two terms.
