The time I found the courage to get outside of my comfort zone and to do something I’ve never thought I would do is when I decided to move to the United States of America. Just like everybody who lives a routine life, I never expected to come to the U.S to complete my studies and work toward building a unique career as a female Engineer. Everyone from my country, Egypt dreams of coming to the “City of opportunities,” New York. It was very hard to make such a decision. I had to move away from everything I knew: my family, my friends, and all the familiar places which house great childhood memories. It was also hard to get used to the new culture. Many of the people around me used words I had never heard before, and it was especially hard to understand new slang. It was because of this unfamiliarity that I sometimes felt shy around my classmates, and I felt like it was harder to make friends. However, by the end of I high school I was able to overcome the feeling of uncomfort, and made many friends. After earning my high school diploma, I had to be prepared for another challenge: college. To me, college seemed both scary and exiting; I could be more independent but I also had more responsibility especially toward my goal. But I soon learned to balance it an am currently working as a cashier while studying in college. I am very happy and grateful that took the risk that put me onto the path of success and, more importantly, allowed me to live the “American Dream.” My dreams are limitless and my efforts to achieve them are always in growth. I have learned many valuable things from this experience: First, life is worth taking the risk; second determination is our way to success; third, keeping faith in our abilities and skills is very important if we want to
