A majority of child soldiers are influenced to join the army. Young Ishmael Beah went to a new town to try out for a talent show when his town was attacked. He saw other child soldiers playing soccer and eating food, so he and his friend decided to join. This is one of a couple ways kids become soldiers, some harsher than others. An article on this topic tells us on page seven, paragraph three, “Thousands of boys, some as young as 10, are purchased kidnapped, or terrorized into joining the country’s army.” (Gettleman, Source 1) These ways bring terror into many child soldiers and there is no way for them to escape. They can be enticed or mistreated in some way to become a soldier without a choice, even if they have to leave their families. Once the boys are there they are treated poorly and are forced to take drugs so they become brainwashed. However, some child soldiers don’t deserve amnesty, based on if their background is dangerous or if a family member is a radical jihad. I used to believe all child soldiers deserve amnesty, no matter what, yet now I see that there are exceptions when it comes to amnesty. Furthermore, if you believe all child soldiers don’t deserve amnesty, try to figure out their backgrounds and then make your decision. Or you can just stay the same and rely on
