Jack rebels in Ralph's actions throughout the book Lord of the Flies which is fueling the beast inside of him, Simon a character in Lord of the Flies learns throughout the book on how to control and channel his beast for a better outcome for the group. In Lord of the Flies, Ralph was established as the leader in the beginning of the book, but towards the end Jack split off creating his own government and most people went along with him. Simon has an idea that the beast is in everyone, but he controls it very well when he helps Piggy when he gets punched by Jack, also when he helps the starving littleun pick fruit from the tree. Jack’s inner beast is constantly being fuel by Ralph, when Ralph is assigning tasks to Jack and there not complete. The argument that they have on the actual task is what fuel Jack’s beast because he tends to win the argument. As Ralph is losing power, Jack is taking the hunters hunting more often and bonding with them to make them loyal to him. In Charlotte Corday’s perspective, Jack was always trying to create a mob. When he arrived at the beach with his choir at the beginning of the book he made them march in 2 lines and follow his commands. Simon portrays the idea that the beast is the inner devil. It creates a greed which soon takes over our minds. Jack greed for power has always been shown in the book, especially when he wanted to become the leader.
