How To Write An Alternate Ending To Willy Loman

The curtain rises as the sound of a door slowly closing is heard. Willy is walking towards the kitchen sink as Linda watches him with a worried yet warm smile on her face. She is siting on the top of the stairs. Willy turns around after getting a glass of water.

Willy, startled: Linda! What’re you doin’ up this late?

Linda: I was waiting for you, dear.

Willy: That so? Well, you shouldn’t.

Linda, noticing Willy’s sweaty forehead and crumpled clothes: Did you work hard today? You look tired, Willy. You should get some rest. Now come to bed.

Willy, with a look of guilt on his face: I’ll be right up; I just need to get some fresh air. It won’t be too long, Linda.

We hear a faint laughter coming from a woman’s voice. The laugh gets louder and louder each second.

Linda: Okay, darling. Slight pause. Don’t take too long.

Willy quickly opens the front door, leaves the house and shuts the door. He is standing on the front porch and stares at the sky.

Willy, mumbling and muttering to himself: Ah! You’re saying I ruined you? What ‘bout you?

Linda slowly gets up from the stairs and heads up to her bedroom.

A young blond-haired woman is seen behind Linda. She is wearing a 3-piece black peignoir and stockings. The scenery changes and we can hear loud music now. The kitchen becomes a cramped grimy motel
