Through the second semester, I have learned a lot of things about writing. I didn't know anything how to write a proposal, outline, and reference and so on before this class. These skills also help me to do better. Up to now, I have finished three new projects. The project one is completely different than I have ever done. I have to complete the project according to Appeals. SOAPS was very helpful as well and it stands for Subject, Occasions, Audience, Purpose and Strategies. I have learned the writing process on the right. First of all, I need to search an artifact which I liked, and then consider what I would like to express. Second of all, I should write an outline to do my own way. Other drafts include rough draft and story board. I shared these with my partner as workshop. They gave me some of that feedback. Nevertheless, I did not follow the APPEALS to organize my second draft. When I shared my essay to my partner, she pointed out my deficiencies. At the last, I organized my structure of my essay as the final draft. Although I still make mistakes, I have got great progress in my writing. …show more content…

It will be determined by how well you can convince others that the work you want to do is worth doing. I was frustrated and lost my train of thought at project two. At the beginning, it is difficult for me. I have learned that is different with essay through draft 1. Professor Kelly taught us to identify writing the proposal correctly. Moreover, she gave us some sample for proposal. It is really helpful for me. I revised my proposal according to these examples. At the last, I have been there and done. I have good experience in new

However, before I wrote my essay, I wrote out an outline for my essay which helped organize my thought into a cohesive idea. While writing my outline I realized that I had many ideas tangled together, which allowed me to separate them as individual ideas. At times, I would just write about both texts together in order to have ideas flowing through my mind as well. I also found it useful to just talk to someone else about my idea because that would allow me to articulate my idea clearly to the person, and their insights usually helped form other ideas as well. After my outline, I worked on my body paragraphs first and then worked on my introduction and conclusion paragraph.…

One of the most important lessons was that I needed to stay on top of my work otherwise it would take a while to catch up. In college, classes and papers will fly by faster than in this class, so I feel lucky to have the opportunity to feel the college paper writing experience. I feel this way because with every paper I had to prove my skills and writing techniques in order to get a good grade. One of the first concepts I gained from this class was the idea of the rhetorical triangle. The rhetorical triangle consists of three points, much like the geometric triangle. The points of the triangle include audience, speaker, and text which were surrounded by the hypothetical circle of context. In high school we just barely scraped the surface of each of these topics but in English 101 we actually learned how to find each of these in text and how to effectively compose about them. In the entering the conversation essay, I lost focus on the fact that we were not writing the paper to our instructor but to people who cared about the conversation of our paper or have already entered the same conversation.…

If I was writing a paper that required a specific number of paragraphs or pages I would typically plan my paper using the four square method. If I was writing an important paper I would write a rough draft, then as I was typing it I would revise it and fix any mistakes I found. One thing that remained consistent in my writing process, no matter the type of paper, is after I wrote the paper I would try to find more grade level appropriate words instead of the simple words I originally used. While writing essays for this class I came to find it is better to combine my writing processes to write the best possible essay I could. I found the best steps for me to take in writing my paper are to write my ideas down in some form.…
