She wrote the books to help herself understand why her daughter did it, then she realized that other people would relate to it and how many people had the same story.…

In And Then There Were None, Agatha Christie shows how people take a situation into their own hands and try to play god. At the end you find out that Justice Wargrave murdered himself and the 9 other guest on the island because they had all been a part of a murder, but weren't convicted. Likewise in “Haircut,” Ring Lardner also shows a situation of revenge.…

It all began on August 7, 1984, well actually it began nine months earlier, but I made my official entrance into the world on this day at approximately 5:25pm. Right in time for dinner, coincidence I think not, since birth I have never been a morning person, fond of breakfast, and most importantly done anything according to the timeline of others or plan. Allow me to digress for a moment to illustrate the independence and strong passion that has been ever present in my personality since the womb. Apparently, the summer of 1984 was a tropical heat wave and I imagine quite uncomfortable for a woman then seven months pregnant driving a van for Children’s World sans air conditioning as well as chasing after my three year old brother.…
