How To Write A Rhetorical Analysis Of Advertising

Decent Essays
Marshall,

I would like to talk to you about the ad you sent me. It was very good but I have a few suggestions for you.

I really liked how you used the ad to connect to the reader's emotions by making them happy about the food. I liked the layout you used and how you made the picture big and put very few words. I like how you used the slogan to compare it to delivery pizza. It says a lot about the type of pizza and the brand.

I think the ad could use a little bit more description of what the pizza is like. You could go into detail about to different types of pizza they have. You could also go into detail on how the pizza is made or how it was made by professionals. If you wanted you could even get real people to tell you if they liked it

Appealing to the public’s emotions, logic, and credibility has proven to be the most effective way of persuasion. His frustration has led to an apocalypse full of peculiar season changes and various other incidents.…

advertisement but also on a person as it was not common to have brightly colored lips at the time. Another likely reason red was chosen was because it signifies courage, sexuality, love and pleasure. Red is often used to evoke erotic feelings, and MAC would have used it to try and lift the stigma on the disease and direct their mantra of “diversity, acceptance and celebrating” the individual at those affected by HIV/AIDS (Benoit). In order to properly analyze the advertisement using rhetorical appeals, it is helpful to define rhetoric and to introduce the definitions from Writing Today by Johnson-Sheehan and Paine.…

I believe Lewis gave a very effective analysis of the advertisement describing it in such detail made us able to picture the ad so clearly. Lewis does an excellent job in describing the image of the ad yet argues that everything about it serves as influence for the genders. With everything from gender, to skin color, to vocabulary, even the placement of the background photos are intentionally arranged to form a “V” in an attempt to give an image of moving in opposite directions. This advertisement is a blatant example of gender stereotyping in the media. The male is shown as dominant and assertive; the woman is shown as weak, soft, and above all else: sexy.…
