How To Write A Reflective Essay On Course

My mom and softball coaches kept telling me I wasn’t going to get to play softball because my grades were bad. I was falling all my classes and my mom was not going to have that. My mom and dad said if my grades were not up I was not going to be able to play any kind of sports. And when I did do my work and turned it in it was not to the best of my ability. I felt that when I turned something in the teacher should be happy. I always thought I never needed help or that I knew everything.
That all changed when I started reading the book, Skipping Downing’s, On Course. The problems I had before I started the book was that I was lazy and I procrastinated all of the time, I never wanted to do my work. All I wanted to do was watch TV and mess with

In order to do my best I would stop, breath, step back with no TV, phone and think how good it feels when I do something and do it right. and get it turned in on time.

Growing up as the baby of five children, I always got a lot of second chances. As I got older, I expected them. Now, I have learned that that will not always be true. You have to earn second chances, nobody necessarily deserves them.. And when you get that second chance you better use it well.

Learning to write When I attended elementary school, part of the curriculum was penmanship. There was a certain segment of instruction dedicated to penmanship rather than writing. We were given large sheets of oat colored paper with three parallel lines widely spaced. The alphabets were used to print and write in cursive using the midpoint, and upper lines for capital letters. The handwriting grades were based on neatness and readability.…

It has been nine years since I have attended college and eleven since I have taken an English course. The first English Composition class I took in 2004, was very dry, and the expectations from what I remember were extremely low. We read excerpts, wrote reflection papers, and that pretty much sums it up. When I reviewed the classes needed for my current degree of interests, I immediately convinced myself English Composition would be the easiest way for me to ease myself back into college. My expectations were low only because of what I experienced before, and I felt this was the place to start in order to help bring my confidence up about returning to college.…

The Final Test I passed the final test, but they didn’t. It all started with my class, called the “9ers”. We were the first class to ever have their whole grade graduate on the same day. We were the smartest of them all, is what the counselor told us. All we had to do was pass the final test to figure out who were leaving to go to the new community.…

How would I describe this class? I would probably say without hesitation that this class is grueling, exhausting, and stressful (just kidding). Although, I would have to admit that somewhere in the back of my mind, I realize how valuable a class like this is. Nowadays, everywhere I look, people are glued to their phones or other devices; when I was in middle school before everyone had a smartphone, people actually read books in their free time. It is quite sad how many students of this generation will not pick up a book unless it is assigned to them.…

Here at UCI, I have taken many writing courses before this class such as AC Eng. 20B, AC Eng. 20C, AC Eng. 20D, AC Eng. 28, Writing 39A, and Writing 39B. Writing has always been my biggest fear and it is something that I have the most difficulty doing it because English is not my first language that I have learned in my life. In addition, I never had any problem communicating with people, but when it comes to writing, I always have to go through a lot of struggles to put them into words because most of the time I find myself repeating the same concept throughout my writing, which most likely to make me go off topic. That lack of skills would always indicate in my academic paper. My experiences with the previous writing courses was not very…

Throughout this semester of English 101, writing has become more of a skill than a struggle. Writing was a challenge that I dreaded when I chose to be in the course, nonetheless with time, I learned from my mistakes and was able to improve. This course made me very doubtful on whether I could be capable of even writing a paper that would provide me with a decent grade, but at the same time made me push myself in my writing technique. In the end, I can reflect that I learned from my mistakes and wrote papers that took time and dedication to accomplish. I learned from this class to be confident in my writing and make all the mistakes to receive the grade I want in the end.…

After having to take your class I have realized that my study skills were not up to par at all. As the semester began to progress I started to buckle down and sit down and take the time that all the material that needed to be studied was receiving it 's appropriate study time. After being able to just sit down at my desk and assess the work that is at my desk I can finally study and work to my full potential. I learned that from all the concentration activities that we had done in this class that for me to stay focused during any assignment that I have to do I must sit in a dark room with any type of instrumental music playing so that I may focus on my work and be called at the same time. Being able to look around my room…

English 2010 has been a learning experience for me, I've been able to learn a lot about english that I did not know or work on before. With the first essay that we worked on I did a memoir I really enjoyed working on this paper, In class we were able to get freedom to add pictures to are pictures make it a little bit more creative I certainly was not used to this; I’ve been told my whole schooling experience that you have the intro and the conclusion and three body paragraphs. The memoir I was able to write to what I felt like I needed it to be, add pictures so it could appeal more to the eye when reading and also made it easier.…

English Composition has been a class that I have looked forward to since the semester started. The class itself is not only enjoyable, but also had a clear path on what is expected of us. It took a little while for the class to pick up, but once it did, it was non-stop. Mr. Kallas, in my opinion, was a great teacher. He was clear on what we needed to do, he kept the class amusing, and he made it worth our time unlike other mandatory college classes.…

I Have Learned This is my second year at Stephens College, but I just finished my first semester as an education major, and it was amazing! I started out my college career as a psychology major, but I plan to graduate with an education degree, and fulfill my dream of teaching children. Throughout this semester I have learned many different things about teaching that will stick with me my entire career. I learned about the teaching and learning process through the course work I was given, the time I spent in the classroom teaching lessons, as well as the times that I sat back and just observed the preschool and elementary classrooms.…
