I spent time at my agency this week working on my agency evaluation paper for another class as well. My agency evaluation and proposal for change are the last two big assignments I have left complete outside of my final evaluation with my agency. When I arrived at my agency on Tuesday I learned that two people had left our agency.
I learned that one client was dismissed for non-compliance because they said they were an American citizen and alcohol was legal. I learned that another client left because they “felt” that the females were being too hard on them at group. It’s still something how a staff member at my agency thought it was alright for practicum students to not only cross boundaries, but to also think it was alright for us to transport clients in our personal vehicle. We are supposed to be friendly with our clients. I have always thought friendly was defined as helping a person carry their groceries in or trying to help them answer a question. Friendly is not defined by going to pick a client up from their doctor’s appointment or transporting them there. Friendly is not posting pictures on Facebook with transitional clients just because you work with them and speak with them during practicum
