How To Write A Reflection Of An Aakf Meeting

I went ahead and scheduled your meetings except for the November 2, 2018 meeting. I am unable to schedule that meeting because it is over a year away. We generally will only schedule 6 months out. I wanted to make sure you were aware I have booked the MPR for the other dates as requested, but there is still a potential of losing the room if an AAFP meeting needs to take place and no other rooms are available during that time frame. I don’t see this as an issue, but I wanted to make sure you are aware of

The obvious and best solution to the problem of the normal anxiety and discomfort that are associated with attending one's first AA meeting is to go to the meeting with someone who knows the ropes. If no friend or acquaintance who happens to be an AA member is available, contact can always be arranged by calling the local AA Central Office and asking for a volunteer to telephone one. Although many people avail themselves of such measures to reduce the stress of their first AA meeting, many others find such logical preliminaries themselves too frightening and therefore do not follow them. It is principally to this last group, to those solitary and always frightened and confused "first timers," that this brief introduction is oriented.…

Yesterday in clinical I was on the labor and delivery unit. As everyone know, mom and baby is not my preference. For me, the problem is not caring for mom or even seeing a delivery, it is caring for the tiny baby. I wanted to be on the labor and delivery side because I hoped to see a delivery. There was one delivery on the unit, but unfortunately the mom was not receptive to having a student in the room.…

On September 11, Kayla, Taylor and I attended the Parklane Group AA meeting. This meeting was covering chapter eight in the book Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions by Bill W. Before reading chapter eight, the leader of the AA meeting read aloud the rules and upcoming events, he then had us introduce ourselves. I was surprised to see that every time someone wanted to speak they first stated their name and referred to themselves as an alcohol addict. I thought this was only done in movies. However, I believe this step could help in the road to recovery.…

I attended a meeting with the Latino Medical student Association on the topic of DACA and how it can affect medical school hopefuls. My friend who is a member of the organization informed me about the meeting and with what was going on in the news regarding the future of DACA and its recipients I thought it would be important to go. l learned that they are very big on community and connecting their members with different opportunities as well as fostering a comfortable environment that allows their members to freely speak about important topics. I thoroughly enjoyed hearing about the experiences of students from different backgrounds that were all Dreamers. I'd be lying if I said I didn't get emotional hearing about the many times medical…

The AA meeting is every Monday from 7pm- 8:30pm. It was actually very convenient to get there from UIC College of Nursing; we just needed to take the Pink Line from Polk to Morgan (only 2 stops). It took us only 12 minutes to get there. After walking into the AA meeting, I thought it was super spacious with bright lights and white walls. The room was filled with chairs for the participants to sit.…

The person running the meeting who we will call “Saul” informed me that a different group from AA hosts this meeting each month. Hosting the meeting requires obtaining two speakers and setting up the room each week. I recently went to an AA meeting at the Lamb Center in Fairfax, Virginia. It is a small center and by approaching the center I could tell that the meeting would be held in a smaller circle than what my classmates told me from their experiences. Even though I am a very relaxed person, when it comes to meeting total strangers I had my reservation on what to expect. We were instructed to be sitting in the back and basically just observe; yet I could see that “hiding” in the back at this place was an impossible task. After I parked my car and approached the door and elderly gentlemen approached me and asked if I was here for the meeting.…

AA Reaction Paper First off, I have participated in a group session before, so I had an idea of what a group support session would be like, but this AA meeting exceeded my expectations. Reflections of an AA Meeting Attendance by a Non-Alcoholic Support Meeting Reflection I attended an online Alcoholics Anonymous meeting. Throughout the year, as a class we have been given many different challenges in either the form of an essay, speech, or group presentation. The final assignment given to us was a group project presentation. From growing up in an age filled with technology, I have come to love projects that revolve around making some form of a PowerPoint presentation. This PowerPoint though, was both difficult and interesting for the reasons of being assigned group members not of my own choosing, learning to listen to others ideas which can help me to learn something new, and using former knowledge while working together to create a clean, in depth, and well prepared presentation. With working in groups of students whom I have known since I was young but…

I was fortunate enough to attend the 2016 H. W. Sumners Leadership Conference where I would have the opportunity to meet a unique pool of influential individuals. Most of my leadership experiences had come from group projects with students who I were familiar with, and the conference gave me the chance to become a team with strangers from across the United States and Mexico. I was not aware of how much I was actually going to get out of the conference. Through the elective workshops, I learned much more about my leadership style and who I could become as a leader. Through the speakers, I learned about the power of creating a vision and pursuing with unyielding faith.…
