James #17 Did you know in 6 years a female dog can be the source of 67,000 puppies while, in 7 years a cat and her young can produce 420,000 kittens? ½ of those animals will be adopted by a person who knows what animal abuse is and what should be done. ¼ will be victims of fighting [head to head full trained fighting]. The last ¼ probably won’t make it very far in life. Animal abuse is a serious problem so try to take notes on what to do and what it is. Believe it or not sometimes animal abusers don’t know how much pain they are causing an animal. Animal abuse is when someone hurts or doesn’t care for an animal. When over aggressive behavior occurs in the animal they are most likely to be a dogfighting dog. Over all animal abuse is a serious thing. “Hello 911. What’s your emergency?” “There’s a guy abusing animals on 220 What To Do lane.” Next thing the guy ,that is abusing an animal, knows he is in the back of a squad car heading to jail. What the caller did was the best way to stop the abuser. Nobody should ever try to stop a person abusing animals on their own, they should alert the police or animal control instead. My interview person ,Deputy Kennedy, said ” If it is an emergency you can call 911 otherwise a call to Knox County Animal Control or the Knox County Humane Society should result in action. If you are not happy with the local authority response you may call the Illinois Department of Agriculture who have Animal Abuse Investigators on staff.” From my other interview ,Roger Underwood, said ”Call the local Law enforcement agency where it is occurring.” What are some signs to look for if someone is abusing their animal?
