Imagine if you walked into the classroom tomorrow morning and heard birds chirping. Imagine if you sat down at your desk, prepared to start your day. You wave towards your teacher who just got back from their day off. The teacher stands up and begins to talk about the day's objectives. But when they open their mouth to speak the intercom turns on then says, “We are under lock down, this is not a drill, take action immediately.” You hear someone scream in the background and the intercom shuts off abruptly. Then you hear gunshots fire down your hallway. Imagine the fear you feel. Be glad you are only imagining, for some they are not so lucky. This has happened before, not once, not twice but fifty-two times this year alone. School shooting have become a problem when it shouldn’t be; neither should be the gun violence portrayed by our country.

More gun control would mean less violence, and if you are going to support or be against it you have to know your rights. Some people may not even know the full second amendment, or even when it was established. In the constitution of the United States of America the second amendment reads, “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed(1785).” The second amendment is not meant to allow anyone to have guns, it is meant to allow certain people to have them and use them in a time of emergency. A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, this shows that the only time we are to actually use any type of fire are is when our freedom is at stake. But, we do not uphold to this portion of the second amendment we only chose to follow the right to bear arms
