A Silent Scream or A new hope? “The greatest destroyer of peace today is abortion because it is war against the child a direct killing of the innocent child murder by the mother herself.” (Mother Teresa). This quote, by Mother Teresa, states that a child is MURDERED by the child’s own mother. Why is abortion legal? When anybody kills anyone they go to prison and face some kind of retribution. However, it is different with abortions. But should it be any different? Abortion should be illegal because the patient is hurting both their own body and the forming child inside them; adoption is a better option.

Not only is the unborn child hurt, but the mother is hurt as well. The mother can undergo nausea, diarrhea, and vomiting. It could also mess with a women’s menstrual cycle and cause intense cramping. During any kind of surgery, death is possible. These are only the physical side effects. Mothers go through more traumatic and emotional times after abortions. According to Abortion Facts, “Other times, the suicidal impulses result from years of repression, depression, and lost self-esteem. A 1987 study of women who suffered from post-abortion trauma found that 60 percent had experienced suicidal ideation, 28 percent had attempted suicide, and 18 percent had attempted suicide more than once, often several years after the event.” After abortions occur, the mothers who aborted the child feels emotional stress, regret and guiltiness. Abortion is still killing innocent unborn children who deserve a chance. Adoption gives life and abortion takes more than one life because of all the problems the mother has after the process. Both the child and the mother deserve a life of happiness neither of them should have to feel pain or regret. As said before, abortion is a war against the child who is being hurt by its own
