When someone is dragged into human trafficking, they are used for many reasons. They are forced into prostitution, subjected to slavery, or are forced into committing sexual acts for the purpose of pornography. They live day by day, forced into doing things that are unpleasant not knowing what could happen to them next. They are snatched from their families, lives, and futures just to please the dark and twisted needs of another human being.
Human traffickers have many ways of keeping control of their victims. They confiscate their victims passports or other important documents, use drug addictions against them, physical violence, starvation, torture, and many other god forbidden ways to keep them under their control. Between 14,500 and 17,500 people are smuggled into the U.S. each year alone. That is 17,500 innocent people that fell victims in the same country that we feel so secure in. A lot of people ignore human trafficking because they feel that the possibility of them being kidnapped and sold is next to impossible but that is not the case. Anyone is a possible victim. Raising awareness is the only way that people can know how real and how dangerous human traffickers are. These are people with a lot on the line, and people who would do anything to keep their profits
