My ambition to study a HND course in public services and to make career in this field has increased over the years. Working as a mental health worker and solving problems of patients suffering from a variety of mental health problems such as bipolar, schzorphinor and dementia. My roles as mental health worker include caring for patients experiencing acute mental health distress, assessing and talking to patients about their problems and discussing the best way to plan and deliver their care, building relationships with patients to encourage trust, ensuring the correct administration of medication, responding to distressed patients and reporting to senior member of staffs. Also approach the patients non treating manner and attempting to understand their feeling ad thoughts. This experience has given me a real practical understanding of the challenges you could face in the community and society. This experience also has given me a great satisfaction to be able to help and care for patients to live a more normal live within the community and to succeed some steadiness in their day-to-day existence and to support their dignity as human beings. I have to also attend training every 6 months’ part of my work role such as medication, adult abuse, dementia, COSH, health and safety, moving and handling, infection control and food hygiene. My ambitions over the years to work within the public service has increased positively. my knowledge in the public services has increased as I have been doing some volunteering work with Sova I work under professional staff members, my roles include mentoring offenders, drug and alcohol support, helping people back into work, supporting young people and families, helping people improve their skills and reducing the risk of homeless people.
