I am a senior, and I realized at the age of 10 that a big interest of mine is helping children, not only young children but all ages. I come from Weslaco, Texas born and raised. My family consists of my younger sister whom is 13 years old, my mother whom is 39 years old, and I am 17 years old. One household filled with three beautiful girls. Growing up for me was a deranged roller coaster, everyday brought a new problem, every other day was a horrible or even worse day, rarely having that wonderful day that every child wishes for. I always did make the best of the day that came, I knew I could do what I wanted to have the happiness in me with a huge smile to come onto my younger sister’s face and mine. When I was 10 years old, I went through the most traumatic experience, everyday after that kept on becoming worse, more pain in me, crying every night, questioning why did I have to go through all that was happening. I never thought that a child that young could have a day like that happen in their lives, it did happen and was unbelievable. What made it even more painful was knowing I was not alone, my younger sister was a part of experiencing the traumatic day, going through her own pain not letting me help her. I wanted to help her, so she would know she is not alone, I am there for her, she did not let me be there. I continued to try to get her to let me comfort her and make her feel better. Ever since then I have wanted to pursue an interest of mine in helping all children no matter what, that is what I needed the most and did not have at the moment of the experience. Every Sunday of the week I go to

I have been working with children for over ten years and have had many life changing experiences with them. None of those experiences have impacted my life more then what happened to me a year ago. It all happened when a parent came up to me at the school I work at and asked me to be a buddy at a program called Buddy Break. I asked, what is involved, she told me that it involved me having an open mind, warm heart and a little bit of training. With a little bit of convincing I was on board and ready to embark on a new adventure that changed my life.…

Sunlight poured in as Lacher sat at his desk, a book resting in his hands. His eyes traced the words on the page, focusing intently on what he was reading. He pushed his glasses up with his index finger, sighing as he heard a knock at the door. He rose from his chair and made his way around the office he set up in Helputt's old castle. He reached for the door before pausing, taking a moment to brush off his suit pants before turning the knob.…

Remember the last time you were at a casino and you heard all that yelling at the craps table and wondered “what are they yelling about”, but you never ventured over there because you are too intimidated by craps. You’re not the only one. What a crazy and intimidating game.…
