Having lived on NC State’s campus last summer for a program, I was already familiar with the pace and expectations that Summer START would hit me with, and I feel that I have adjusted to and met those challenges on better footing because of that. Despite this familiarity, this experience still feels, and in many ways is very different from last summer. This time, there is a note of finality to it- knowing that this summer will act as a transition into my “officially” starting college in the fall, opening the next chapter of my life. At this time, the most memorable moment has been getting locked out of my room and having to get one of the mentors (sophomore or higher students at NC State) to help me find the help desk so I could get a temporary key.
