How To Write A Narrative Report On Our Lady Of Fatima

Improved Essays
The church I attend, Our Lady of Fatima, holds an Al-Anon meeting every Monday night at eight o’clock. There were about fifteen people, all different backgrounds and ages ranged between mid-thirties to mid- eighties. The meeting lasted about an hour and a half. The meeting was an open meeting, it was structured and organized. Before the meeting started an announcement was made. After the meeting anyone who wanted to join was welcomed, for they were going to get a bit to eat.
When the meeting started Mr. George went over the statement of purpose. He then asked if there were any newcomers, please introduce yourself if you would like, first names only. Mr. George stated, please get with me after I have something to go over with you if I did

Today’s goal was to introduce me to the site, the people that work in my department, the resources available to workers, and current projects. My volunteer supervisor, Geraldine Baptist, showed me around the hospital, specifically where I would normally sign in and sign out, the cafeteria, and the Occupational/Physical therapy outpatient department. Upon arrival at the OT/PT department, Ms. Baptist introduced me to the front desk secretary, Mauracell, a sweet, openhearted young lady. Mauracell warm welcoming made me extremely comfortable, and all anxiety was put to ease. Mauracell showed me around the office and work center, then introduced me to each person present and gave me a description of what types of things they work on.…

For my out of class activity I decided to go to an open Alcoholic Anonymous meeting. I chose to go to this type of meeting because they have lots of time options in the Des Moines area, so it was convenient within my schedule. Initially, going into this I had no idea what to expect. I’ve seen a few AA meetings on movies I have watched, but other than that, I had no previous knowledge of what this meeting would be like.…

In the discombobulation of day to day life, all types of people are going to try to knock you down. This hardship was experienced personally by Brenda Roza as she realized that “there may not be that person next to you that's going to speak up for you”. There is no reason for strangers being malicious, to try to knock other people down when they’re not even known to you. Regardless, it is imperative that you are able to defend yourself- just as Brenda Roza did. Having been told throughout her entire life that she couldn’t do certain things, Brenda thought that that being a successful person might be beyond reach to her - impossible.…

In attempt to develop range in my observation of support groups, I once again found myself returning to an old stomping ground. Throughout my years in high school, I dedicated several hours a week to my local church in a growth group for high school girls. Although I currently experience mixed emotions with religion, I recalled how influential it was during my teenaged years to have such support, convincing me to return to observe a group to identify ways in why it was so helpful for me during difficult moments in my life. Luckily, my previous growth group leader was still leading groups and graciously accepted my request to be a guest that following week. Meeting once a week, the purpose of these groups was to discuss the Bible and life issues, but based on personal experience, these groups offered much more than a few life lectures.…

Men and women, some appeared jovial and others exhibited a flat effect.…
