Improved Essays
September, 10 there were a total of 10 piglets placed outside. Nine piglets were placed inside of a cage, and one was buried in the ground while in a box around 4.00’pm. All of the piglets were dead before birth, and have not had a single breath of oxygen air. Piglet one was lying in the grass naked without clothes. Piglet two was naked with first and second and degree burns all around its body. Piglet three had a stab wound; it didn’t penetrate the other side. Piglet four was naked and had a bullet would they penetrated the other side. Piglet five was clothed and lying on the ground. Piglet six was naked lying on the blacktop. My theory was the pig with the second degree burns would decompose the fastest. Based on my results, the fastest decomposing piglet was number six, the naked piglet placed on the blacktop. On day six it was completely decomposed and bones were spread out everywhere. My results also show that the naked piglets decomposed faster. The clothed piglets took the longest to decompose. The clothed suspended pig took the longest to decompose. I believe it took the longest to decompose because it was suspended and all of the insects that live in the ground couldn’t get to it. The fastest pig to decompose out of the piglet with a gunshot wound, knife wound, or died of natural causes was the piglet that died of natural causes. There were flies, maggots, and sweat bees surrounding the piglet’s body. There were a few of each insect on both of the suspended one. Piglets 2, 3, 6, and 7 had the most maggots, flies, insects, etc. There was a part of every piglet that looked like it was still alive and moving from the amount of maggots on the piglet. The grass under the decomposed pigs was yellowing. The grass surrounding 2, 3 and 5 was completely dead. The soil surrounding the piglets was starting to appear

The fur industry has been part of American society even before there was a United States of America. The fur trade likely started when Hudson’s Bay Company was incorporated in 1670 (Dyhouse) and has continued to this day. While fur fashion trends have changed over the years, ranging from felted beaver hats in the mid-19th century, to hats trimmed with whole birds and stuffed kitten heads in the early 20th century, to today’s mink coats, one thing has remained the same; that every piece of fur clothing has come from an animal that was killed for it (Dyhouse). Because of concerns about causing animals to become extinct, furbearing animals have been raised on farms since just after the Civil War (Dyhouse, “Fur Farming in North America”).…

Kisor’s autobiography takes the reader through his life, starting with the meningitis that caused him to be deaf at age 3, to his adult life as a journalist. In between, Kisor experiences some discrimination, such as not being allowed to be a lifeguard, but goes largely unopposed throughout his life.
