How To Write A Letter Of Moving Away

There are much more education and work opportunities here compared to San Francisco, that’s why I had to move away.

I would like to start of by thanking you. You might be wondering why, and the truth is there are so many things. I’ll start with the ups and downs that we went through when I was just five years old. I remember so clearly mum walking out on us in search of a job in New York. Looking back, we couldn’t really blame her for leaving, could we? Along my journey in school I remember all the sacrifices my parents did for me and my siblings. For example, my father Adolfo Garcia would work from Monday to Saturday from sun up to sun down in order to provide food on the table, clothing on our backs, and a roof over are heads. Although both of my parents encourage and motivate me to attend school and pursue higher education, I am also motivated by all the sacrifices they have made because I know that if it wasn’t for the support of my parents I would not be where I am…

It all started in senior year of high school, a moment where, because of my lack of effort at certain times of my teenage life, I was left with very few options regarding where I could go pursue my education after graduating high school. It is important to emphasize that although I wasn’t sure what exactly I was capable of, I was sure that I was capable of great things and high school failed to inspire me to become the best person I could be. I was disoriented yet self-assured. Luckily, thanks to some thoughtful people who guided me in the right moment, I was able to get in to the Macklin Business Institute at Montgomery College and I was given the opportunity to try out and get recruited to play for MC soccer team. The experiences that followed…

But to realize where you stand in society at a young age makes you begin to think. When I was younger I never really gave my family’s financial situation much thought, until I began to realize I couldn’t afford basic necessities or came home to eviction notices taped to our door. Austin, I don't know where to start...first, I just want to say that I do love you, I care about you. I told you that no matter what you will always hold a place in my heart, you were there for me when nobody else was and I can't act like the love was never there. I have been unable to register to my phone due to the fact that my particular phone number was already registered and I can't create another account under a different name with the same phone number for some reason. So, that is the reason for me "emailing" you instead of being able to actually talk to you. Before I go any further I just want to say that this letter is going to be hard on you, and for that I apologize.…

First, let me share with you that in no way shape or form did I ever intended on hurting your feelings with my comment about “giving my childhood back.” It was simply intended as a joke. I also clearly had no intentions of touching on a sensitive subject between you and mom. With that being said you should know that I do not look negatively back on my childhood thinking things like “Oh wow I was really screwed over by my dad…
