Cold...wet...and I could smell the stench of rotten garbage and death. It smelled horrid. It was unbearable. The room I was in was pitch black, But it seemed that the walls were painted plain white, with no windows and no light. There was a wooden floor stained and old it looked as if tomato juice was spilled on the floor...or that’s what I hoped it was. The room I was in seemed small but had an empty feel in it. I see a bed and a bookcase in the room. But I can’t see a light switch of any kind. I finally got the nerve to knock on the door, to see if I can get anybody’s attention. Nothing I at least hoped someone would open the door even if it was just to kill me. I've been here for awhile it feels like even though I did just wake up, and no …show more content…
*That night* Derek and I grabbed the body and set off...we told my mom and his mom that we were going to the movies, then out to eat so they wouldn't expect us for a 3 hours or so. We grabbed the chest and put it in the trunk we started driving and we have been drinking so I knew it wasn’t a good idea but were young and in love, so of course we jet off swerving this way and that. We finally got to “the movies” aka the dump where we are going to dispose of the carcass which has now grown mold rotted and lost teeth...you can't even distinctly see my beautiful friend’s face anymore...she’s gone. We had to move quick and we had to not act suspicious. We were halfway there when it happened, Derek started acting strange he would fall asleep it seemed but with his eyes open… I would ask him what wrong and there would be no reply. I refused to think that it was...not him anymore. I didn’t want to see him like that, not again. I didn’t want to end up like my friend...cold, and lifeless. We were able to see the dump and we were headed to the gate but he didn't slow down...I kept telling him to stop. But he wouldn't *crash* we wrecked into the fence and there was blood...lots of it. I couldn’t see anything...partially because it’s dark now and partially because everything is blurry...I think I may have hit my head. I look over to see nothing and there's nothing in the trunk...I then stop and realise where’s Derek...and the body. I stumble out of the car and fell to the ground where there was blood scattered from me to where I can't see. I walked and followed the blood hoping it would lead to Derek… I see something lying on the ground but it doesn’t look like a human, as I get closer I see it is a dog. It looks like it would of been harmless it’s brown with white spots

The first room was illuminated by a foul fluorescent light peeking through the shattered light bulbs. The wind whistled through the holes of the crumbled bookshelves. Book lay there, it was as if they knew they were unwanted and discarded; gathering dust just like the bodies of rats sprawled out on the floor; giving a sickly scent of mildew. Spikes of Fungus pierced the bodies like hot knives did through butter! Looking up I could see a riddle on the wall: "what's ahead of you, but you can't see it?"…

The buildings, trees, and road all meshed together to form a picturesque and breathtaking view. Isms The world is revolving. It may seem ridiculous to reiterate this rudimentary fact of science, but it is important in noting that, like the earth, all life upon its surface is in a state of perpetual spin, turning from one phase to another. Human beings are carried through evolution through continuous revolutions of heart, mind, and expression as witnessed in the unending attempts to better oneself, or all selves, through political, religious, and artistic mediums. Furthermore, these mediums often, if not always, correlate, gaining momentum one from another, many times until new order and philosophy are established.…

Supernatural themes within Gothic texts are designed to push against the common way within society in order to be relevant and convey a message. Throughout history, the human race has taken many different paths and embraced many different beliefs. Three of these beliefs that have been incredibly influential in the past three centuries are: neoclassicism, romanticism and Victorianism. In each of these historical periods, gothic literature and by extension the supernatural, acted as a rejection of the common beliefs. Generally, this was specifically done by the Authors in order to convey a relevant message.…
