When I met Mary-Ann I became a pretty lucky person because I knew I had the one of the best Aunts ever. Mary-Ann, who was born with down-syndrome, never let the disease stop her from reaching her goals. Mary-Ann was a wonderful person, who always cared for others before herself. She is a caring, loving and most importantly bequeathing. Whenever she was singing “ Jesus Loves Me” or “ Happy Birthday” you knew she was in her sunny place. Numerous things were obstacles for her but she always found a way to lend a hand. “ You have not lived today until you have done something for someone who can never repay you.” Mary always wanted to impact someone's life whether it was by singing happily or just showing her full-size smile.

Mary handed out an offering to everyone and didn’t receive a single item back. Additionally, at no time did she complain about not getting anything, but instead she continued to smirk. While being around her I’ve concluded that everything isn’t just about offering and collecting, it’s about offering and not getting anything back. By just a single experience I’ve become more into a person who is willing to do whatever to help make a change in the world. I used to believe everything I did to aid others that I should expect at least a little prize back. Although, in all reality “giving is not just about making a donation, it’s about making a difference.” After complaining a ton that day, I now know that when I get an article I must thank the person for thinking of me when they could have used their kindness to help others in need. Meanwhile, when I get a gift that I may not want or need I ought to preserve it because it’s a reminder that some people give more than what they
